SANDRA

STRATMAN

I knew at some point I would be introducing myself to my followers but little did I know it would be during an extremely unsettling time in our world. I had it all planned to tell you all about myself and my family and who we are but that’s all changed.

It’s no doubt that today’s world and the pandemic surrounding us causes many of us to be fearful. Fearful of the unknown mostly… not knowing if there will be enough money to pay the bills, or if the grocery store will have baby wipes or diapers or toilet paper. Or maybe it’s fear of the quietness around us with the silent streets and open  freeways. We are so accustomed to the busy-ness around us that when it stops, we notice and it just doesn’t feel right.

But maybe the universe is telling us we need to shift gears and think of this as an opportunity to slow down and be more intentional. Maybe it’s time to re-evaluate how we live and what our true priorities are. Maybe… just maybe… it’s time to let the earth have a rest.

As Jonathan Livingston Seagull so eloquently said, “In every problem, there is a gift to be learned”.  I believe this to be true in every problem I face and I believe this to be true during this pandemic time. We may not see it now, but it will reveal itself.

Medical professionals are my new heroes. My heart aches for those who have lost jobs or loved ones as a result of COVID-19. There are many among us who live in fear (not gonna lie… there are days I do too) and I pray for each and everyone of us to get through this together.

To that end, I have a story to share. A little over a year ago, I left my job of 18 years and my boss gave me a necklace made by @junkyardgirls that was personalized for me. It says “Let your Light Shine.” I wear it ALL the time (as shown in my pic) and especially now. It’s a reminder to me that we all need to shine the light we have been blessed with to help others whose lights might be dim through these uncertain times.  Shine bright my friends… shine bright.

Xoxo,

Sandra
